Pierre Marchand appointed to Canada Soccer’s Board of Directors

Canada Soccer Board

Pierre Marchand has been appointed to Canada Soccer’s Board of Directors as the Regional Director for Québec. Mr. Marchand fills the position vacated by Paul-Claude Bérubé, who was elected Canada Soccer Vice President in May at the 2023 Annual Meeting of the Members. Mr. Marchand will serve in the position until next year’s Annual Meeting of the Members.

Mr. Marchand previously served as the 36th President of Québec Soccer from 2017 to 2023. He has been involved in soccer for more than 40 years and served on Québec Soccer’s Board of Directors since 2001. He is an honoured member of the Laval Sports Hall of Fame.

From this year’s 2023 Annual Meeting of the Members, Mrs. Charmaine Crooks was elected as the 36th President of Canada Soccer. She stands as the first women and the first person of colour to lead the organisation in the 111-year history of Canadian soccer. Alongside President Crooks and Vice-President Bérubé, other officers appointed or elected to the Board of Directors were: Orest Konowalchuk for Director, Alberta & Northwest Territories; Don Story for Director, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Nunavut; Dino Rossi for Director, Ontario; and both Kelly Brown and Dominique Grégoire as Independent Directors.
