CPL Match Week 9 – Vancouver FC player Eugene Martinez suspended for Violent Conduct

Canada Soccer’s Incident Review Body is tasked with reviewing incidents of misconduct occurring on or around the field of play falling within Law 12 of the Laws of the Game which were not seen and dealt with by Match Officials but were caught on video. Following review of the video footage from Canadian Premier League Match #37- Cavalry FC v Vancouver FC on 11 June 2023, Vancouver FC player Eugene Martinez was issued a charge of misconduct for an act of Violent Conduct committed against his opponent in the 74th minute of play.

The Canada Soccer Disciplinary Panel has subsequently issued Martinez the standard sanction for the offence of Violent Conduct- a three (3) match suspension and an undisclosed monetary fine.
