Canada enter knockout phase at the Concacaf Men’s Under-17 Championship

Canada will face Haiti in the Round of 16 at the 2023 Concacaf Men’s Under-17 Championship this Saturday 18 February at the Estadio Pensativo in Antigua, Guatemala. With the group phase wrapped up on Thursday, any one of the advancing nations are just two wins away from qualifying for the FIFA U-17 World Cup Peru 2023.

All of Canada’s matches will be broadcast live on OneSoccer, available as a linear channel on Telus’s Optik TV (Channel 980) as well as online at OneSoccer.ca, through the OneSoccer app and on the fuboTV Canada platform. Fans will find extended coverage for the matches across Canada Soccer’s digital channels on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube featuring the hashtag #canm17.

Canada posted two wins for six points in their three Group F matches at the Concacaf Men’s Under-17 Championship. Canada won 3:2 over Trinidad and Tobago, won 2:0 over Barbados, and then lost 0:1 to group winners USA. While Canada finished second in Group F on Wednesday, Haiti finished third in Group H on Thursday.

On Canada’s side of the bracket, the winner of the Canada-Haiti match will face the winner of the Costa Rica-Puerto Rico match in the Concacaf Quarter-Finals on Wednesday 22 February. All four winners in the Concacaf Quarter-Finals qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup Peru 2023.

In the last two rounds, the winner of the Canada-Haiti/Costa Rica-Puerto Rico match will face the winner of the Jamaica-Guatemala/USA-Dominican Republic match in the Concacaf Semi-Finals on Friday 24 February. From there, the winner advances to the Concacaf Final on Sunday 26 February.
