Canada Draws Argentina, Uruguay and Bolivia

OTTAWA, ONTARIO – The draw for the Copa America was held in Bogota, Colombia today with Canadian Technical Director and Men’s World Cup team head coach Holger Osieck in attendance.

OTTAWA, ONTARIO – The draw for the Copa America was held in Bogota, Colombia today with Canadian Technical Director and Men’s World Cup team head coach Holger Osieck in attendance.

Canada was drawn in Group C with Argentina, Bolivia and Uruguay. The group will play in Medellin, Colombia. The competition will take place from July 12-27 in Colombia with Canada’s first game on July 13 against Argentina, followed by July 16 vs Uruguay and Bolivia on July 19. The top two teams from each group as well as the best third-place finishers will advance to the quarter-finals.

“First of all, it’s a great opportunity for Canada to play against such great countries, in particular Argentina, who are one of the soccer world powers, “ said Osieck. “It’s a great experience for Canada to play in such a good tournament.”
