FIFA World Cup™ Trophy in Canada

Canadian Soccer Association president Dr. Dominic Maestracci was amongst those whose welcomed the FIFA World Cup trophy to Canada this morning in Toronto, ON. The trophy made its stop as part of the FIFA World Cup(tm) Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola, accompanied by Canadian musician and Juno award winner K’Naan.

The trophy made its stop as part of the FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola, accompanied by Canadian musician and Juno award winner K’Naan.



“Canada is honoured to welcome the trophy as part of the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola,” said Canadian Soccer Association president Dr. Dominic Maestracci. “I would like to thank FIFA and Coca-Cola for making us part of such an incredible tour.”



Dr. Maestracci, Coca-Cola Canada President Nikolaos Koumettis, Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Canada President Kevin Warren, and Canada’s Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Minister Jason Kenney were all on hand to unveil the trophy upon its arrival.



The 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ will be contested this summer from 11 June to 11 July. The FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola will visit 86 countries over 225 days before returning to South Africa on 4 May. The trophy measures 36 cm tall and is made of solid 18 kt gold.
