Canada has arrived in Toronto in advance of this Wednesday night’s Men’s International Friendly match against Ecuador. The Canadian team had been training just north of Toronto in Alliston, but made the move on Sunday 27 May after its morning session at Nottawasaga Inn.

On Monday, Canada will train in the morning in Thornhill before returning to its hotel for the Official Welcome Press Conference. Both national coaches of Canada and Ecuador – Stephen Hart and Reinaldo Rueda – will take part in the press conference to discuss the upcoming Wednesday 1 June match.
“The mood has been good, the camp has been sharp and overall it has been a good two days,” said coach Hart of the team’s stay in Alliston.
Coach Hart and the Canadian staff had nine players at training on Sunday, with the rest of players scheduled to meet them in Toronto. It was those players that had the longest break away from their clubs that joined Hart in Alliston.
Canada will take part in the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup this 5-25 June in USA. Canada faces USA, Guadeloupe and Panama in the group phase, with matches to be played in Detroit (7 June), Tampa (11 June) and Kansas (14 June). Eight of 12 teams advance to the quarter-final phase.
