The 2017 finals will be played from 21-23 April at Queen’s University.
Kingston, Ontario has been selected as host city for the third annual Futsal Canadian Championship. The 2017 finals will be played from 21-23 April at Queen’s University.
“The Futsal Canadian Championship is gaining momentum as an event representing an important evolution of the official indoor version of soccer in Canada,” said Peter Montopoli, Canada Soccer’s General Secretary.
This will mark the first time that Kingston has hosted one of Canada Soccer’s national competitions. Previous editions of the Futsal Canadian Championship were played in Montréal, Québec (2015) and Oshawa, Ontario (2016).
For the first time in 2017, a representative from the province of Saskatchewan will be included in the competition. The 2017 Futsal Canadian Championship will feature a three-team format, with Saskatchewan, Ontario, and Québec clubs playing a round-robin series before the championship final on Sunday.
Futsal is a unique, fast-paced indoor sport played across Canada and around the world. Canada Soccer is committed to the growth and promotion of the game. At the elite club level, Canada Soccer supports domestic competition through the annual Futsal Canadian Championship.
From the first two editions of the Futsal Canadian Championship, Futsal Club Toronto were national champions in 2015 and Toronto United Futsal were national champions in 2016.
