Canada v Scotland on 22 March
Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team will face Scotland in an away Men’s International Friendly match on 22 March. The 2017 match will be played during the FIFA international window.
“We are pleased with this opportunity as we continue to provide quality matches in our assessment and overall growth,” said Michael Findlay, Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team Interim Head Coach. “Between the camps in January and March, our players from clubs both in Canada and abroad will benefit from this international match experience.”
The March 2017 match will be Canada’s second match of the new calendar year after a 22 January friendly against Bermuda. The squad for the match will be announced in mid March.
The international match continues Canada’s preparations towards the CONCACAF Gold Cup, which kicks off this July across USA. Canada are two-time CONCACAF champions from 1985 and 2000.
In 2015 and 2016, Canada’s overall record is nine wins, seven draws and eight losses in 24 international matches against all opponents.
