Players help drive to #Canada2015 tickets on-sale date

A series of promotional and media events are scheduled across the country in advance of this week’s ticket sales launch for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015™. The events promote the Wednesday 10 September on-sale date, with tickets on sale as of 12.00 ET / 09.00 PT on FIFA.com/Canada2015.

Tickets will be sold via Stadium Passports and Stadium Half Passes in this first phase of ticket sales starting 10 September 2014. Stadium Passports include tickets for every match day at a stadium. Each of the six stadiums hosting FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015™ matches will have its own individual package.

Stadium Passports offer savings of up to 25% over individual ticket prices. They provide fans with the opportunity to sit in the same seat for every match or share tickets with family and friends in case they cannot attend a particular match.

Promotional efforts across Canada started on 4 September with the Vancouver Board of Trade luncheon in Vancouver, BC. The event featured a presentation by Victor Montagliani, who serves as both President of Canada Soccer and Chairman of the National Organising Committee for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015™. The event featured player Sophie Schmidt as a special guest.

On Friday 5 September, the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015™ was the focus of Ottawa’s Mayor’s Breakfast Series. Peter Montopoli, the General Secretary of Canada Soccer and Chief Executive Officer of the National Organising Committee, was the guest speaker invited by Mayor Jim Watson.

Then on Saturday 6 September, player Carmelina Moscato was in Winnipeg to help promote the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015™. The day’s events were centered around ManyFest, the city’s biggest street festival.

Early this week, Sura Yekka will be in Edmonton, Schmidt will be in Ottawa, Rhian Wilkinson will be in Montréal, and Josée Bélanger will be in Moncton (as well as nearby cities Halifax and Fredericton). The players will take part in media events in the day before 10 September. The cross-country schedule also features a 9 September event in Vancouver featuring Mayor Gregor Robertson and Canada coach John Herdman.

The FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015™ runs 6 June to 5 July across Canada. Matches will be played in: Vancouver, British Columbia; Edmonton, Alberta; Winnipeg, Manitoba; Ottawa, Ontario; Montréal, Québec; and Moncton, New Brunswick.
