I was hoping that I would one day play in the senior program in the Pacific Coast League. You could fill Callister Park. One of the rivalries was Firefighters, a big strong team, playing ahead Columbus, the Italians, which at times turned out to be full-on war”...
said Chris Bennett in 2018, “1973 was my big year because that was the year we hosted the Canada Summer Games here in British Columbia. It was a who’s who of Canadian soccer playing in that tournament. We beat Ontario in the final 1-0 and they had Peter Roe, Jack Brand, John McGrane and others. We won the game in front of a packed crowd at Swangard Stadium”...
