Michelle Pye... speaks English... married to husband Alain Ruch, who like her was a referee on the Canada Soccer national list... earned Bachelor of Science from Thompson Rivers University... she was 19 years old when she started refereeing at Kamloops YSA... worked as a high school teacher at Handsworth Secondary in North Vancouver, BC, teaching biology and physical education (2005 until ??)...
honoured by the Canada Soccer Hall of Fame as a referee as part of the Class of 2025... honoured by the Soccer Hall of Fame of British Columbia and the Kamloops Sports Hall of Fame...
was appointed as a referee to one FIFA World Cup (Canada 2015) and four FIFA youth tournaments (New Zealand 2008, Trinidad and Tobago 2010, Canada 2014, Papua New Guinea 2016)...
said Pye after her induction to The Soccer Hall of Fame of British Columbia, “I am most proud of having been able to become a mother and still continue to referee at the highest level”...
