Canadian citizen... favourites have included Tottenham Hotspur, Jimmy Greaves... in 1976, he worked as a “school teacher from Hamilton” when he selected to play for Canada at the Olympic Games... owned Burlington Soccer Supplies... earned his Canada Soccer Coaching B Diploma in 1984 and his Canada Soccer Coaching A Diploma a few years later...

represented Canada at the Montréal 1976 Olympic Games... represented Canada in FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, Olympic Qualifiers and the Pan American Games... career 29 international appearances across six years from 1971 to 1976 with Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team, including nine international "A" appearances... when he left international football in 1976, he ranked fourth all-time with 29 international appearances...

wrote Frank Pike in 1971, “his coolness and his command in the air (against Mexico) belied any nervousness he may have felt and he could well make the Canadian team on a regular basis for years to come”... wrote Colin Jose in 1972, “cool under pressure and excellent in the air”... said Grant in 1976, “it’s a fantastic feeling just walking onto the field. The greatest part is when they play the national anthem”... as noted in a 1978 program, “a very experienced and steady centre back”...
