James Douglas... he was 15 years old when he moved with his family to St. Catharines, ON, CAN... in 1976, he worked as a “draughtsman from Hamilton” when he selected to play for Canada at the Olympic Games... once missed a FIFA World Cup Qualifier match because he couldn’t take leave from his job (a playoff match against USA on 22 December 1976)...
honoured by the Canada Soccer Hall of Fame as a player...
represented Canada at the Montréal 1976 Olympic Games... represented Canada in two cycles of FIFA World Cup Qualifiers... represented Canada at the Pan American Games in 1975... career 34 international appearances across five years from 1972 to 1976 with Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team, including 15 international "A" appearances... when he left international football in 1976, he ranked third all-time with 34 international appearances...
