Edmonton Victoria was recognized by the Alberta Soccer Association with both the Golden Shoe and Fair Play awards at this year’s Annual General Meeting. Edmonton Victoria was one of four Golden Shoe winners for winning a national title at the 2009 BMO National Championships. It was Edmonton Victoria’s third Jubilee Trophy in the last six years.
Edmonton Victoria shared the Golden Shoe award with Calgary Foothills Crew U-18 men, Calgary Foothills Athletics U-18 women, and Edmonton Juventus U-14 boys. This marked the second time in three years that Alberta won four national titles at the BMO National Championships.

The 2010 Alberta Soccer Association Annual General Meeting took place Saturday 23 January at the Matrix Hotel in Edmonton.
Other award winners were Billy Dunlop for the President’s Trophy, Jens Westergaard for the Golden Whistle, and Ron Pierce for the Shield of Merit. The seven Award of Merit winners were Michelle McMorran, Erin Findlay, Wendy Lamb, Pam Newton, Dave Thiele, Eric Mahabir and Preben Bossen. McMorran and Findlay were recognized for saving the life of a man of the field; Lamb and Newton were recognized for saving the life of a 17-year old player at an indoor game.
Along with the award winners, long-time soccer official Sean Kiernan was recognized as an Alberta Soccer Association Life Member.
