Canada Soccer’s 2025 National Championships returned to the historic King George V pitch on the shores of Quidi Vidi Lake—the legendary site where Canada originally qualified for the 1986 FIFA World Cup. Throughout the tournament, the storied pitch bore witness to the latest chapter of local and national soccer history as both the men’s Challenge Trophy and women’s Jubilee Trophy championship matches were decided on its turf.

While the finals took center stage at King George V, the excitement was felt across the entire St. John’s metro region, with matches hosted at various pitches throughout the area.

Off the field, St. John’s proved to be an unforgettable destination. Visitors spent their time between matches exploring the city’s vibrant culinary scene, shopping, and soaking in the local culture. The city lived up to its reputation as a hotbed for storytelling and music, offering a perfect blend of downtown charm and bustling energy.

From hiking the internationally recognized East Coast Trail and standing at the edge of the continent at Cape Spear to visiting iconic Signal Hill, participants and fans alike made the most of their time in the capital. Regardless of the colors they wore, everyone was made to feel right at home in the heart of Newfoundland and Labrador.
