with New Westminster Blues SC, a Canada Soccer National Championships winner (Challenge Trophy in 1972)...

at age 13, he had the honour to kick off the all-star match against Northern Ireland at Callister Park on 6 June 1953 (Gerela was the recent Soccer Boy winner at the Vancouver Sun’s Tournament of Champions)...
