Tamas Fried... he moved to Canada on 4 January 1957, first living in North Sydney, NS before moving to Toronto a year later... he was 81 years old when he passed away in Toronto, ON on 21 December 2006... obtained certification in sport medicine at the Sport Institute of Budapest... worked at the Downsview rehabilitation centre in Toronto for the Workmen’s Compensation Board... author of the book, “Secrets of the Doctor of the Golden Team”...

honoured as a Canada Soccer Life Member... posthumously honoured by the Canada Soccer Hall of Fame (one of the first 11 non-players honoured as part of The Soccer Hall of Fame’s inaugural Class of 2000)... recipient of Canada Soccer’s Aubrey Sanford Meritorious Service Award in 1987...
