wrote Felix in 1983, growing up “I was living on the reservation and they had one soccer team. My father was the coach and he was strict, but the thing was he never had any coaching himself”... wrote Felix in 2021, “I was a natural right-footed player, but I trained for years wearing a soccer boot on my left foot and a runner on my right foot. I practiced alone and only dribbled and shot with my left foot. I used to work on my balance. I was then able to dribble and shoot with either foot”...

said Felix in 2021 of his first goal, “my first goal was funny. The corner kick on the left side was passed to the half back who swung the ball in... there was a big group of us who went up for the ball. After the goal, Dan Sudeyko started cheering, running back to centre and everyone was patting his back and hugging him. Then five minutes later the announcer came on and said, ‘after review, the first Canada goal was scored by Terry Felix.’ About six of us went up for the ball and I was at the back of that group and nodded the ball in the far corner”...
