Olivia Smith

Olivia Smith (she/her) is an English speaking athlete who comes from a strong soccer background. Both of her grandfathers, Wayneworth Smith from Jamaica and Francisco Riquelme from Chile, played club soccer in their birth countries. Her mother, Sulee Smith, was born in Toronto and her father, Sean Smith, was born in Oshawa.

Olivia grew up immersed in sports. In addition to soccer, she participated in taekwondo, basketball, volleyball and track and field. She began playing soccer at the age of five with Whitby Iroquois SC in their house league program.

Outside of sports, Olivia enjoys music, dancing, video games and spending time with friends and family.

Her favourite athletes and teams over the years include Marta, Christine Sinclair, Neymar, Lionel Messi, Ronaldinho, Alexis Sánchez, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Carli Lloyd, Célia Šašić, Cristiano Ronaldo and FC Barcelona. She also draws inspiration from stars in other sports such as Usain Bolt, LeBron James, Allen Iverson, Ronda Rousey and the Toronto Raptors.

represented Canada at the FIFA World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023... represented Canada at one FIFA youth tournament (U-20 at Costa Rica 2022)... won a Concacaf youth medal with Canada (2022 bronze U-20)…

attended the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015 in Montréal (where she met Marta)... threw out the ceremonial first pitch before a Toronto Blue Jays baseball game on 29 June 2024...
