Dr. Emil Webster... married wife Gertrude in 1903 (son James was born in 1904), but Gertrude passed away in 1906... he married Marion Hickler in 1929 (son Henry was born in 1930)... he was 75 years old when he passed away on 19 January 1945 in Sault Ste. Marie, MI, USA... earned his M.B. at Toronto and his M.D. at Trinity College of Medicine... in New York, he studied post-graduate courses in ear, eye, nose, and throat treatment... became an American citizen in February 1898... was one of the organisers of the Chippewa Historical Society...
as noted in Sault Ste. Marie’s The Evening News in 1945, he was “known to hundreds of Upper Peninsula citizens as physician, philosopher, and friend”... also noted in The Evening News in 1945, “since his retirement, and some years before, Dr. Webster was interested in farming and frequently was to be found at his farm at Rudyard. He was also compiling a history of Michigan medicine and particularly interested in seemingly isolated but important incidents which charted the progress of American medicine”...
