Simon Thomas... sports family (triathlon twin brother Aaron)... his father Richard was born in Grostenquin, FRA while his mother Erica was born in Vancouver, BC... he was nine years old when he started playing for Bays United SC... grew up competing in soccer, volleyball and cross country... enjoys golf, cooking and tennis... favourites have included Edwin Van Der Sar, and Jens Lehmann...

said Simon of his first time in goal as a youth player, “I hadn’t been in net yet and I was very reluctant to go; I wanted to stay up and I wanted to score goals, but in that first game I made a few good saves and I was hooked ever after”... said Simon of getting hooked on the game, “playing in the backyard with my dad, I would always go up against the fence and he would take shots on me; I always look back on it (because) that was one of my favourite moments”...
