Wesley Alan McLeod... soccer family (father Gordon, brothers Billy and Mike, uncle Normie, cousin Norman Jr.)... he was born in Vancouver when his father and uncle both played for Vancouver Capilano FC (he was less than a year old when they won the 1957-58 V & D Mainland League with Capilano FC and then the 1958 Pacific Coast League championship with Vancouver Hale-Co FC)... growing up, favourites have included Montréal Canadiens... as a soccer player, he wore white tassels on his socks for good luck...
honoured by the Canada Soccer Hall of Fame as a player... honoured by the Soccer Hall of Fame of British Columbia and the Coquitlam Sports Hall of Fame... on 21 April 1990, had his jersey number 8 retired by the Dallas Sidekicks... his uncle Normie McLeod is also an honoured member of the Canada Soccer Hall of Fame...
represented Canada at the Montréal 1976 Olympic Games... represented Canada in two cycles of FIFA World Cup Qualifiers... career 29 international appearances across 11 years from 1975 to 1985 with Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team, including 18 international "A" appearances...
