Canada finished in fourth place at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Uruguay 2018, their second-highest finish ever at a FIFA youth tournament. In the group phase, Canada won back-to-back matches against Colombia and Korea Republic before losing to eventual silver medal winners Spain. In the knockout phase, Canada won 1:0 over Germany in the Quarter-Finals, lost 1:0 to Mexico in the Semi-Finals, and then lost 2:1 to New Zealand.in the Match for 3rd Place. This marked Canada’s sixth-consecutive participation at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
