as noted in 1924 in an Australia program, Wilson was “considered the best centre half in the west when he played in Vancouver and continues to play well in Edmonton; he is a tall and rangy player and hard to get around; a fast and good placer and a great man on the attack”...

was part of the 1921 All-Canada XI that faced the touring Scottish Star Footballers in an exhibition match in Montréal (an 0:1 loss on 9 July 1921)... noted in the Montréal Gazette of his 1921 performance against the Scottish footballers, he was Canada’s “best man on the half line; he played a cool, useful game”... was part of the 1924 Canadian team that toured Australia and New Zealand (with matches played in Brisbane, Sydney, Newcastle, Adelaide and Auckland)...
