Upcoming matches on TV.
Canada Soccer and TSN announced an extension of their partnership to bring Canadian soccer to fans from coast to coast. TSN – the home of champions, with a lineup of 60+ iconic championship events including the FIFA World Cup™ through to 2026 – currently features the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ Qualifiers semi-final round and select men’s and women’s international friendly matches.
“We are pleased to extend our partnership with TSN to bring Canadian soccer to the home of champions,” said Peter Montopoli, Canada Soccer General Secretary. “As a leading soccer nation, we are proud to have a partner that will bring our matches to Canadians from coast to coast to coast on television and digital platforms.”
The Road to Rio Women’s International Series featuring Canada v Brazil will be broadcast on TSN and RDS on 4 and 7 June. The upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ Qualifiers will be broadcast on TSN on 2 and 6 September.
In addition, TSN will deliver the country’s professional soccer championship – the Amway Canadian Championship – to Canadian soccer fans. With five Canadian professional teams in the hunt, the competition will be featured from coast to coast on TSN this summer in the month of June (with Impact Montréal FC matches also available on RDS). Following the preliminary Ottawa-Edmonton series in May, the country’s top-four professional clubs will fight it out for the Voyageurs Cup and a prized spot in 2017-18 CONCACAF Champions League.
This marks the first year that TSN will broadcast Canada Soccer’s Amway Canadian Championship.
The two semi-final legs – a home-and-away series for each pair of clubs – will be played 1 and 8 June. Vancouver Whitecaps FC will face either Ottawa Fury FC or FC Edmonton in one semi-final series while Impact Montréal FC will face Toronto FC in the other semi-final series.
The 2016 Amway Canadian Championship Grand Final will be played over two legs – again home and away – during mid-weeks ties on 22 June and 28 or 29 June.
