This Day in Football:

Canada wins 1:0 over Panama in a home FIFA World Cup Qualifiers match at BMO Field in Toronto. Dwayne De Rosario scores the lone goal of the match after a quick free kick by Atiba Hutchinson. Centre back Kevin McKenna is the man of the match, helping Canada's defence post its eighth consecutive clean sheet in FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. Of note, De Rosario scores his 20th goal, setting a new national record for goals at the "A" level. Head coach Stephen Hart, meanwhile, moves into second place on Canada's all-time wins list at the "A" level (with an overall record of 19-10-13). In a pre-match ceremony, the Canadian Soccer Association pays tribute to the women's national team that won bronze at the London 2012 Women's Olympic Football Tournament.
