FIFA Futsal World Cup

Canada lost to Argentina and Belgium, then defeated Japan in the group face of the inaugural FIFA Futsal World Cup, at the time known as the 1st FIFA World Championship for Five-A-Side Football (Indoor Football). The 16-nation competition ran 5-15 January 1989, with Brazil defeating host Netherlands to capture the world title.
