Algarve Women’s Cup

Canada won the 2016 edition of the Algarve Cup, winning 2:1 over Brazil in the final match of the women’s international competition. Canada reached the final after winning Group A with six points (two wins and one loss). This was Canada’s first competition after qualifying for the Rio 2016 Olympics just a few weeks earlier. Summer Clarke, Janine Beckie (two), and Shelina Zadorsky were Canada’s goal scorers in the competition. Clarke and goalkeepers Sabrina D’Angelo and Kailen Sheridan all made their debut during the competition.
