Canada et Corée du Sud ont rendez-vous à Toronto et à Montréal

Ottawa, Ontario – L’Association canadienne de soccer a annoncé aujourd’hui que son équipe féminine de Coupe du monde accueillera la Corée du Sud pour deux matchs internationaux amicaux cet été. Ces rencontres seront disputées le 18 juin 2003 au stade Centennial de Toronto et le 20 juin 2003 au Complexe sportif Claude-Robillard, à Montréal.



Dans leur seule rencontre à vie, le Canada a vaincu la Corée du Sud 1 à 0 sur un but de Andrea Neil, le 5 mai 2000 dans le cadre du tournoi de la Nike Cup, à Portland en Oregon. Huit membres de l’équipe actuelle de Coupe du monde étaient de cette rencontre, soient Breanna Boyd, Silvana Burtini, Christine Latham, Isabelle Morneau, Andrea Neil, Sharolta Nonen, Christine Sinclair et Amy Walsh.

Les Canadiennes s’envolent vers la Floride

Ottawa, Ontario – L’entraîneur-chef Even Pellerud de l’équipe canadienne féminine de Coupe du monde a invité 18 joueuses pour un camp d’entraînement de 10 jours à Bradenton, en Floride du 10 au 20 février 2003.



Ce camp d’entraînement est la première réunion des joueuses en 2003. L’équipe se prépare pour la phase finale de la Coupe du monde de la FIFA, qui se déroulera en Chine au mois de septembre. Le Canada a obtenu un laissez-passer pour ce tournoi en raison d’une victoire de 2 à 0 sur le Mexique en demi-finale du tournoi de la Gold Cup.

Osieck Announces Roster For Libya Game

Ottawa, Ontario – Canadian Men’s World Cup Team Head Coach Holger Osieck today released the roster for the international friendly against Libya in Tripoli on February 12, 2003. The game will be played at 6:30 p.m. local time at the National Stadium (11:30 a.m. ET).



Three players who made their World Cup Team debut against the United States on January 18 have been included in his squad in Atiba Hutchinson, Maycoll Canizalez and Rob Friend. Hutchinson recently signed with Osters in Sweden while Canizalez plays in the German Third Division with Werder Bremen reserves. Friend, who was recently drafted in the fourth round of the MLS Draft by Chicago, plays with Moss FK in Norway.

Canada To Play Mexico; National Teams Schedule

Ottawa, Ontario – The Canadian Soccer Association today announced the Women’s World Cup Team will play two internationals against Mexico prior to departing for the 2003 Women’s World Cup in China. The Association also announced some of the upcoming games, camps and tours which will place in the year 2003. Several other projects are currently being discussed and negotiated and will be released upon confirmation.

Ottawa, Ontario – L’Association canadienne de soccer (ACS) a annoncé aujourd’hui que son équipe féminine de Coupe du monde disputera deux matchs internationaux face au Mexique avant de quitter pour la Chine afin de participer à la phase finale de la Coupe du monde 2003. L’ACS a aussi dévoilé le calendrier des activités des équipes nationales pour l’année 2003. Plusieurs autres projets sont discutés et négociés et d’autres annonces pourraient suivre sous peu.

Canada To Play Germany June 1

Ottawa, Ontario – The Canadian Soccer Association today announced its Men’s World Cup Team will face Germany in an international friendly on June 1, 2003 in Wolfsburg, Germany.



The two teams had reached a tentative agreement to face each other on November 6, 2001, but had to cancel those plans when Germany finished second in their World Cup Qualifying group and were required to play Ukraine for a spot at the World Cup. The Germans went on to reach the final which they lost 2-0 to Brazil.

Friend Replaces Injured De Rosario

Ottawa, Ontario – Canadian Men’s World Cup Team head coach Holger Osieck today announced he has called in forward Rob Friend to replace the injured Dwayne de Rosario for Saturday’s friendly against the United States on Saturday, January 18 at Lockhart Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale (FOX Sports World Canada).

Osieck Adds Four Players To Roster

Ottawa, Ontario – Canadian Men’s World Cup Team head coach Holger Osieck today announced the addition of four players to his squad which will face the United States on Saturday, January 18 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Chris Williams, Maycoll Canizalez, Winston Marshall and Sita-Taty Matondo will join the team in Florida tomorrow. All four have been training at a combined Youth and Olympic Team camp in Mexico and all are being called in to the Men’s World Cup Team for the first time.

FOX Sports World Canada To Broadcast Friendly

Ottawa, Ontario – Responding to a great deal of public interest, the Canadian Soccer Association, Soccer Canada Properties, and FOX Sports World Canada are pleased to announce that the digital network will broadcast live Canada’s upcoming international friendly match versus the United States of America.



The Canadian Men’s World Cup Team will play the American squad at Lockhart Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on January 18 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
