The pitch was covered in pools of water after a fierce storm ripped through the area bringing with it over 24 hours of steady rain. The match has been re-scheduled for Saturday 27 February at 14.00 local (07.00 ET / 04.00 PT) at the Alpha Sports Complex in Larnaka.
For Canada, the match presents an opportunity to gain a measure of revenge for its loss to England in the 2009 Cyprus Women’s Cup final. The Group 2 contest will be the second of the competition for both sides following opening-match victories on 24 February. Canada won the 2008 Cyprus Women’s Cup on its inaugural visit to the competition.

While Canada dominated for much of the match, the Swiss took a first half lead and kept Canada close throughout.
