Canada’s women’s national team is the 13th ranked country on the FIFA/Coca-Cola Women’s World Ranking. Canada remains the second-ranked country within CONCACAF, behind the world’s number-one ranked USA. Canada improved by three points, but were overtaken and fell from a tie for 11th place to 13th place in the global ranking.

CONCACAF, the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football, has announced the groups and dates for the CONCACAF Women’s World Cup Qualifier 2010 – Mexico. This year’s tournament, which will serve as the qualification tournament for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Germany 2011, will feature eight teams participating in Cancún and Playa del Carmen, Mexico.

Le championnat continental de cette année comprend la participation de huit équipes qui disputeront des matchs aux villes mexicaines de Cancún et Playa del Carmen et sert aussi comme voie de qualification pour la Coupe du Monde Féminine de la FIFA 2011 ayant lieu en Allemagne.
Canada remains the ninth ranked team within CONCACAF after the 11 August 2010 edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking. There was little movement in the ranking, with just two international matches played since the conclusion of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™. Most movement was the result of older matches being devalued in the ranking.

Canada’s Carol Anne Chénard has been appointed to referee the final at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Germany 2010. Chénard will be the referee in the middle this Sunday 1 August for the final between Nigeria and host Germany.
Kelly Parker of the Buffalo Flash was named W-League Most Valuable Player for the 2010 season. Parker was one of five year-end award winners announced by the United Soccer Leagues on Friday 30 July. Parker is the league’s first repeat winner of the MVP award.
