Canadian Soccer Association suspends the President of Alberta Soccer Association

The Canadian Soccer Association has announced that Mr. Chris Billings, the currently suspended President of the Alberta Soccer Association, has been further suspended from all soccer-related activities in Canada. Under the Canadian Soccer Association’s Rules and Regulations, Mr. Billings was suspended after he failed to attend a personal hearing of the Canadian Soccer Association’s Disciplinary Committee. Mr. Billings may apply to The Canadian Soccer Association for another personal hearing to be convened; he will, however, remain suspended until that process has been completed.

Canada prepares for China PR

Canada is facing China PR in a Women’s International Friendly match this Thursday 30 September at BMO Field in Toronto, ON. The international match, which is presented by Winners, kicks off at 19.30 local time. Tickets for the match start at just $15 and are available via Ticketmaster (Ticketmaster.ca / 416.872.5000), the BMO Field box office and the Ontario Soccer Association (for group sales, contact Jamie Smith – JSmith@soccer.on.ca).

Canada to face Greece in 2011

The Canadian Soccer Association has announced today that Canada will face Greece in a Men’s International Friendly match this coming year on 9 February 2011. The match will be played in Greece on what is scheduled as the first fixed date for friendly matches on the FIFA international calendar. The match will be part of Canada’s early preparations for the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Canada, China PR rosters confirmed

Both Canada and China PR have confirmed their rosters for the upcoming Women’s International Friendly match this Thursday 30 September. Canada has had 23 players in camp with three more players to arrive on Monday evening following this past weekend’s Women’s Professional Soccer championship. China PR, meanwhile, has 23 players in Canada for away matches against Canada (30 September) and USA (2 October and 6 October).

Canada welcomes China to Alliston

Canada’s women’s national team welcomed China PR on Sunday 26 September at the Nottawasaga Inn & Resort near Alliston, ON. Canada has been training daily at Nottawasaga since last week, but incorporated a training visit from China PR in its Sunday session. The two nations meet this Thursday 30 September in a Women’s International Friendly match at BMO Field in Toronto, ON.

L’équipe nationale féminine du Canada a souhaité la bienvenue à la RP Chine dimanche dernier au Nottawasaga Inn & Resort, situé près d’Alliston, en Ontario. Le Canada s’entraîne quotidiennement à Nottawasaga depuis la semaine dernière, mais a modifié son horaire afin de permettre une visite de formation de la RP Chine lors de sa séance du dimanche. Les deux pays se réunissent ce jeudi 30 septembre à l’occasion d’un match amical international féminin au BMO Field à Toronto.

Canada opens doors in Alliston

Canada’s women’s national team will open its doors to training this Friday and Saturday 24-25 September at Nottawasaga Inn & Resort. Fans are welcome to watch the training session, beginning with the Friday 10.00 and 16.00 sessions. Training is closed on Sunday and there will be no training session on Monday.
