Le Canada a annoncé sa liste de sélection pour le Torneio Internacional Cidade de São Paulo ayant lieu prochainement au Brésil. Le Canada disputera quatre matchs du 9 au 19 décembre à São Paulo (Brésil) à l’occasion de ce tournoi ayant la participation de quatre nations. Cette série de quatre matchs, dans le cadre des activités d’un camp d’entraînement national, clôturera la saison 2010 de l’équipe nationale féminine du Canada.

Canada has returned to the top-10 on the FIFA/Coca-Cola Women’s World Rankings. On the heels of five consecutive wins and a second CONCACAF championship, Canada has moved up four places to ninth on the world ranking. It marks the fourth time Canada has ranked as high as ninth in the world.

Canadian defender Adrian Cann was named Toronto FC Most Valuable Player, Stefan Frei was named Toronto FC Humanitarian of the Year, and Dwayne De Rosario again won Toronto FC Golden Boot honours (15 goals).
It has been resolved that the Alberta Soccer Association Board of Directors constituted on 10 January 2010 at the ASA Annual General Meeting is in effect the proper and governing Board of the ASA.
Canada is the eighth ranked country in CONCACAF on the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking. Canada dropped four points and one place in the region, while Trinidad and Tobago jumped 120 points and three places in the region on the heels of Caribbean qualifiers for the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup. In fact, four different Caribbean nations gained more than 100 points after multiple wins in their official continental matches.
The Canadian Soccer Association has announced that it has established an Ad hoc committee to examine the feasibility of a Canadian Professional League. While this committee completes its feasibility study the Canadian Soccer Association has passed a moratorium on the sanctioning of any further applications for Canadian franchises in USA based leagues until 30 September 2011.
Canada has won two of three CONCACAF women’s tournaments this year. The Canadian national team recently returned home a champion from the 2010 CONCACAF Women’s World Cup Qualifier. Eight months earlier, the U-17 team won the CONCACAF Women’s Under-17 Championship in March. It marks the first time in Association history that Canada has claimed two CONCACAF championships in the same year.
