Canada remains perfect at the 2011 Cyprus Women’s Cup following a 1:0 victory over Italy on Friday 4 March. Canada has six points following two group matches, with just the Monday 7 March match against England remaining before the classification matches two days later. Canada needs a win or draw against England to win the group and advance to the championship final on 11 March.

The announcement was made today at the Home of FIFA in Zurich, Switzerland by FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter following the FIFA Executive Committee meeting.
Canada will face Italy this 4 March on Match Day Two of the 2011 Cyprus Women’s Cup. The two sides will meet at GSP Stadium in Nicosia, Cyprus. The match kicks off at 17.00 local (17.00 ET / 14.00 PT).

Canada collected three points on the opening day of the 2011 Cyprus Women’s Cup, walking away with a victory over group rival Scotland. In its first of three group matches, Canada won 1:0 on a goal by Emily Zurrer in the second half. The opening match was played at Ammochostos Stadium in Larnaka, Cyprus.

Nick Dasovic, Lyndon Hooper, Victor Kodelja and Jimmy Nichol headline the list of 2011 inductees to The Soccer Hall of Fame. The four players will be inducted this year along with builders Bill Hoyle and Bert Goldberger and Pioneer Award winner Len Peto. Also to be honoured is the Team of Distinction 1979 Vancouver Whitecaps and the Organization of Distinction Toronto Ulster United.
