Canada’s women’s national team has welcomed the Canadian Broadcast Corporation and Société Radio-Canada to Italy this week to prepare content for this summer’s FIFA Women’s World Cup Germany 2011(tm). CBC/SRC is the official broadcaster for Germany 2011, with television and online broadcasts available via CBC, SRC, Rogers Sportsnet, CBCSports.ca, and Radio-Canada.ca.

On the heels of being awarded the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015™ and FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2014 on 3 March, the Canadian Soccer Association began the next stage in hosting the competition with its first Candidate Bid City site visit in Vancouver on 28 and 29 March.

Canada wrapped up a successful week-long camp in Turkey with a 1:0 victory over Belarus on Tuesday 29 March. Staff and players were pleased with their sessions and the performance carried over into the Men’s International Friendly match against Belarus. Canada controlled much of the play and André Hainault delivered the lone goal in the win.
Canada took part in its final training session on Monday morning in Belek, Turkey, one day in advance of its Men’s International Friendly against Belarus this 29 March. Both players and coaches agreed that the team’s week-long camp in Turkey has been one of the sharpest and most focused sessions in recent memory.
Canada’s women’s national team has opened camp in Roma, Italy, a four-week camp as part of the team’s preparations for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Germany 2011. Coach Carolina Morace has called 24 players into camp from 23 March to 20 April.

The Canadian Soccer Association is pleased to announce the return of Rogers Sportsnet as the national broadcast partner of the 2011 Nutrilite Canadian Championship. All six matches featuring Impact Montréal, Toronto FC, Vancouver Whitecaps FC and Championship debutants FC Edmonton will be broadcast live in High Definition on Rogers Sportsnet over four Wednesday nights from 27 April to 25 May.
