FC Edmonton will become the first “newcomer” in the Nutrilite Canadian Championship when it hosts reigning champion Toronto FC on Wednesday 27 April. The Edmonton, AB club will face the two-time national champions in a home-and-away semi-final series on 27 April and 4 May.

Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame has announced that retired soccer star Andrea Neil is one of five new athletes to be inducted later this year as part of the Class of 2011. Neil, hockey’s Raymond Bourque, CFL’s Lui Passaglia, triathlete Peter Reid, Paralympian Lauren Woolstencroft as well as builder Richard Pound complete the six-person induction class that will be celebrated on 8 November 2011.

The Canadian Soccer Association has announced that Rogers Sportsnet will carry a live broadcast of the Canadian Men’s International Friendly match on 1 June 2011. The match will be broadcast live on all four Rogers Sportsnet channels (East, Ontario, West and Pacific) for a 19.00 ET / 16.00 PT kickoff. The match features Canada against Ecuador at BMO Field in Toronto.
The Canadian Deaf Sports Association (CDSA) is pleased to have created a great partnership with the Canadian Soccer Association. The Canadian Soccer Association organized an Eastern Soccer Assessment Camp in Toronto (26-27 March) and it was a huge success. CDSA’s National Deaf Soccer Head Coach, Matthew Greenwood, was in charge of the Soccer training Camp.

Canada will face Ecuador in a Men’s International Friendly match Wednesday 1 June in Toronto, ON. Ticket sales for the general public will begin on Wednesday 20 April at 10.00 ET (07.00 PT) with pre-sales on 18 and 19 April at 10.00 ET (07.00 PT).
