Sixteen teams have confirmed their squads for the first Masters Championship as part of Canada Soccer’s 2025 National Championships. The eight men’s amateur teams and eight women’s amateur teams will travel into Winnipeg, Manitoba from 1-5 October with all matches to be played at the Ralph Cantafio Soccer Complex.
Canada Soccer’s Masters Championship serves as a pinnacle event to the 2025 season, bringing together the best Masters clubs from across the country. This marks the first year that men’s and women’s Masters teams have been brought together in one host city as opposed to regional competitions in the west and east.
Hall of Fame honoured member Dwayne De Rosario is one of seven Past National Team Players competing in this year’s Masters Championship alongside Vaughan teammates Adrian Cann and Andrew Ornoch, Port Moody SC goalkeeper Srdjan Djekanovic, Edmonton Scottish SC’s Chris Lemire, Burlington SC’s Vonya Beckles, and Halifax Hotspurs SC’s Nkem Ezurike.
De Rosario and Cann are both former Canadian Championship winners with Toronto FC while Vaughan teammate Desmond Humphrey was a Futsal Canadian Championship winner with Toronto United Futsal and Saskatoon’s Codi Ens was a Futsal Canadian Championship winner with Saskatoon SK Impact FC. There are also 31 former National Championships winners across seven different teams including Beckles, Ezurike, Lemire, and four-time winner Heather Lund of Edmonton Drillers Green & Gold.
