By year’s end, he was the league’s leader with 16 goals, earning him the 2011 MLS Golden Boot award.

This week, De Rosario is in camp with Canada’s national team in advance of Match Days 5 and 6 of CONCACAF Round 2 of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil Qualifiers™. De Rosario and the Canadian squad plays Friday night in Bassetere, St. Kitts and Nevis on Friday 11 November and then Toronto, ON on Tuesday 15 November.

Also of note from the list of award finalists, Vancouver Whitecaps FC forward Eric Hassli has been named a finalist for MLS Newcomer of the Year. Hassli scored 10 goals in 26 matches for the Canadian expansion team.
