Both Breagha Carr-Harris, Canada Soccer’s Head of Women’s Professional Soccer, and Allie Pike, Canada Soccer’s Professional Games Manager, attended the two-day Concacaf W League Development Workshop in Monterrey, NL, Mexico from 17 to 18 July. The two-day workshop was presented in conjunction with the 2022 Concacaf W Championship and ahead of the Monday night Final featuring USA and Canada.
The Concacaf W League Development Workshop featured representatives from Concacaf’s Member Associations across the region. The interactive workshop featured presentations by Concacaf, the Mexican Football Federation, Liga MX, and FIFA.
The Concacaf W League Development Workshop was part of a series of Concacaf initiatives organised around the 2022 Concacaf W Championship. These activities included grassroots coaching to parent workshops, girls’ clinics and youth tournaments. The initiatives are part of Concacaf’s aim “to create access, opportunities and pathways for growth.”
Also alongside this year’s Concacaf W Championship, Canada Soccer board member Stephanie J. Geosits took part in the “Business of Belonging” women’s football panel on Friday 15 July.
