Canadian men to face Vejle Boldklub on Sunday

Canada’s men’s national team will face Danish pro club Vejle Boldklub this Sunday morning in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The Sunday morning match will conclude Canada’s two-week January training camp under head coach Dale Mitchell.



The Canadians won 1:0 over Martinique on Wednesday night in an international friendly at the Stade Louis-Achille in Fort-au-France. After travelling to St. Lucia on Thursday, they have a morning training session today before heading back to Florida. The Sunday morning match will be played at 11.00.

Vejle Boldklub is currently in the Danish first division, just below the Danish Superliga. Vejle Boldklub is looking to earn a promotion to the Superliga by season’s end.

The Canadian team is currently assessing talent for Canada’s upcoming run to the FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010. While CONCACAF’s first phase of 2010 World Cup Qualification begins in February, Canada will wait until the second phase to play their first game on 15 June in Saint Vincent & the Grenadines.
