The players have arrived from their professional clubs in advance of this Monday’s international friendly match against two-time FIFA World Cup™ champion Argentina.

The Argentina-Canada match will be broadcast live on Rogers Sportsnet this Monday 24 May (15.30 ET / 12.30 PT). The match kicks off at 16.30 local time at Estadio Monumental Antonio Vespucio Liberti in Buenos Aires. This will be the first-ever meeting between Canada and Argentina’s national “A” teams.

The international match is big news in Argentina, less than three weeks away from the kickoff of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™. The Argentina-Canada match is Argentina’s last international test before its 12 June match against Nigeria in Johannesburg. In the group phase, Argentina will also meet Korea Republic on 17 June and Greece on 22 June.

Argentina also has its full squad in place, having just announced its 23-man roster for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ this week.

Canada is taking part in a two-week South America trip, with away matches against Argentina on 24 May and Venezuela on 29 May. Like the Argentina match, the Venezuela-Canada match will be broadcast on Rogers Sportsnet.
