The top-five countries in the world are still Argentina, Brasil, Italia, España (Spain) and Deutschland (Germany). Their positions did not change from November to December.

Canada finished the 2007 season with a record of four wins, three draws and three losses. The highlight of the season was reaching the semi-final of the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

In 2008, Canada will start the road to the FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010 with a two-match series against St. Vincent & the Grenadines in the June. Should they advance, they are expected to face (barring an upset) México, Jamaica and Honduras. The six-game round-robin series (home-and-home with each opponent) will run from August to November 2008. México, however, will first have to defeat the winner of Belize vs. Saint Kitts and Nevis, Jamaica will have to defeat the winner of Bahamas vs. British Virgin Islands, and Honduras will have to defeat the winner of Dominican Republic vs. Puerto Rico.
