AGM Wraps Up In Vancouver

Ottawa, Ontario – The Canadian Soccer Association held its Annual General Meeting in Vancouver June 14-16 and completed several items of business.
The Auditors Report for 2002 was received by the Membership, reflecting total expenditures of $12 million. The Board also reviewed its 2003 budget, set at $10.3 million.
Adrian Newman was re-elected to a two-year term as Director, Finance and Les Wilkinson was re-elected as CSA Vice-President. British Columbia’s Leeta Soklaski was elected Director, Women, taking over from Sylvia Beliveau and Montreal’s Dick Labrom was voted Director, Technical, following Clive Wilkinson’s two-year term.

“I was very pleased with the progress and the harmony shown by our membership over the weekend,” said CSA President Andy Sharpe. “Canadian national teams will play in more than 100 matches in 2003 and with the Men’s Gold Cup, Women’s World Cup and FIFA World Youth Championship still to come, there is a great deal of excitement in Canadian soccer this year.”
