2021 Canada Soccer Circle K Active Start Soccer Fests Hosting Applications Now Open

Applications for the 2021 Circle K Active Start Soccer Fests are now being accepted

Canada Soccer is pleased to announce that hosting applications are now being accepted for the 2021 Circle K Active Start Soccer Fests program which will be the 25th anniversary of the country’s largest and longest running grassroots soccer program. With the majority of the 2020 season not possible due to the ongoing pandemic and ensuring the priority of the safety of staff, volunteers, players and parents in mind, Canada Soccer is looking forward to supporting the Active Start Soccer Fests program this year in accordance with local public health guidelines. Clubs looking to host an Active Start Soccer Fests in 2021 can now apply, however, all clubs must ensure that they are following their respective Member Association’s guidelines for Return-to-Play, as well as all public health authority guidelines.

Canada Soccer’s top priority is to ensure the safety of all those participating, and encourage clubs to only host, if and when possible. Early applications will provide Canada Soccer with the best opportunity to support clubs in their endeavour to host an Circle K Active Start Soccer Fests.  This support will include ensuring that Active Start Soccer Fests adhere to Canada Soccer’s Return-to-Play guidelines and meet the required approvals from Member Associations as well as the respective levels of government.

As Canada’s largest national grassroots soccer program, community soccer club administrators, coaches and volunteers are encouraged to apply online today to host a fun-filled event to your community.. With the festival schedule expected to fill-up quickly, prospective hosts are encouraged to submit their applications early to secure their desired festival date.

Canada Soccer’s Circle K Active Start Soccer Fests have supported community soccer activity for more than two decades and reached over four million Canadians through the delivery of financial grants, promotional and technical resources to clubs from coast to coast to coast. Since its’ inception, the program has distributed over one million dollars directly to community clubs across the country.

“The Active Start Soccer Fests program provides a welcoming, fun, and developmentally appropriate environment for young players to experience the game of soccer,” said Jason deVos Canada Soccer’s Director of Development. “Kids who have free play opportunities to experience the joy of the game are those most likely to develop a lifelong love of the sport.”

In addition to the financial and technical support provided to all festival hosts, the program’s corporate partners enhance the festival events through the provision of giveaways, facilitation of appearances by Canadian National Team athletes in select markets, and the implementation of unique technical programming at select festivals. Canada Soccer’s Circle K Active Start Soccer Fests is a grant-based program designed to provide resources to host a soccer celebration in communities across the country.
