Frederick Dierden... he was 19 years old when he enlisted for the Canadian Over-Seas Expeditionary Force on 7 December 1914 in Toronto, ON... he was 64 years old when he passed away in Toronto, ON on 1 July 1960... in 2012, was honoured by The Soccer Hall of Fame as one of “Canada Soccer’s Best XI in 50 Years: 1912-1962”... 
 
as noted in a 1924 Australian program, Dierden was “a clever centre half (that) some say (is) the best in the east”... as noted in a 1924 Brisbane program, Dierden was “the best right or centre half in Canada”...
