he was 19 years old when he moved to Toronto, ON; moved to Saskatchewan a year later... he married his wife Shirley (they had children Lisa and Michelle)... he was 73 years old when he passed away in Kingston, ON on 30 May 2011... earned B.A. from the University of Saskatchewan in 1968... earned Bachelor Education from the University of Saskatchewan in 1969... was an English teacher at Mount Royal Collegiate in Saskatoon (1969-70), including serving as coach for the school’s soccer and table tennis teams... in 2000, one of 14 alternate builders shortlisted by The Soccer Hall of Fame (he became an honoured member as part of the Class of 2002)... 
said Terry Quinn in 1994, “under this gentleman’s leadership, Canada Soccer secured the support of corporate sponsors for many national programs... with increased corporate sponsorship in 1980, Canada Soccer’s budget exceeded one million dollars” for the first time... 

For Sport

served as President and Treasurer of the Saskatchewan Soccer Association (1965-68)... 
served as the eighth secretary of the Canadian Soccer Association (1968 to 1 September 1985), known as the Canadian Soccer Football Association until 1971... was in fact the first full-time Secretary of Canada Soccer (the position was part time until July 1970 with office at 924 Temperance Street in Saskatoon)... served on the National Organising Committee for the 1974 CONCACAF Juvenile Tournament... was a member of Canada Soccer’s bid committee for the 1986/1990 FIFA World Cup... 
served as Vice President Operations & Marketing for the Coaching Association of Canada (starting in 1985)... served with the Ontario Soccer Association...
