Head Coach Casey Stoney names 24-player squad to face Switzerland and the Netherlands
Canada Soccer has announced the 24-player roster that will represent the Women’s National Team (CANWNT) during the upcoming October FIFA international window, featuring two high-level away friendlies against top European nations Switzerland and the Netherlands.
The team will open the window on Friday, 24 October against Switzerland (FIFA ranked #24) at the Swissporarena in Lucerne, before travelling to the Netherlands to take on the Dutch side (FIFA ranked #11) on Tuesday, 28 October at Goffertstadion in Nijmegen.
Head Coach Casey Stoney has named a 24-player squad blending experienced internationals and emerging talent. Notably, defender Sydney Collins returns to the squad after more than a year sidelined by injury, while goalkeeper Emily Burns, forward Kaylee Hunter, and midfielder Florianne Jourde receive their first call-ups.
“This window is an important one for us to come back together and keep pushing forward. It’s been a few months since our last camp in June, so we’re looking forward to reconnecting both on and off the pitch. Switzerland and Netherlands will be excellent tests for us as we continue to build on the work we’ve started and grow as a group. Playing strong European opposition will give us exactly the kind of challenge we need at this stage.”
– Casey Stoney, Women’s National Team Head Coach.
