Canada wins 2:1 over USA in its second-ever match, again at the 1986 North American Cup in Blaine, MN (as part of the Sons of Norway annual youth tournament). With just two days rest, several Canadians were nursing injuries, including Cathy Ross who had to have her foot frozen twice during the match. Geraldine Donnelly makes her debut for Canada and scores the first two goals in the women’s program history. Canada’s first-ever goal was assisted by Charmaine Hooper. With the series tied after this second match, the two teams immediately play a third “mini” match of two 15-minute halves which USA wins 3-0 to claim the North American Cup.
