British Columbia won the Dr. Fred Stambrook Trophy at the 2010 BMO National Championships Nutrilite All Stars U-14 Boys competition in Sherbrooke, QC. British Columbia finished first in its group with three wins and one loss, clinching the title on the final day of the round-robin competition.
British Columbia and Ontario both tied with nine points, but British Columbia finished first on account of the head-to-head record earlier in the championship (BC 2:1 ON on 22 July).
The medal standings featured British Columbia with gold, Ontario with silver, Alberta with bronze and Québec in fourth place.
Tyler Redl of Saskatchewan was the Top Scorer while goalkeeper Marco Carducci of Alberta was the Top Saver. British Columbia won the Fair Play Award.
Of note, Ontario’s Jordan Hamilton was the lone U-14 player selected to Canada’s men’s U-17 national camp. Hamilton and 21 players from the U-16 competition will now train in Laval, QC from 25 July to 1 August.
