The 2010 CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship has opened in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Canada fell 3:6 to El Salvador while Mexico won 3:2 over Jamaica in the other group match. In the opposite group, USA won 6:2 over Guatemala while Costa Rica won 5:2 over Bahamas. More

Canada's Beach Soccer team was eliminated Thursday from the 2009 CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship in Puerto Vallerta, Mexico. Canada showed a valiant effort, but ultimately lost 6:8 to group opponent El Salvador. Canada will finish last in its three-team group.
Canada needed a victory to stay alive in the competition after losing its opening match 0:10 to host and tournament favourite Mexico. El Salvador will face Mexico in the final match of the group phase on Friday. More

CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship postponed

CONCACAF announced today that its 2009 CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship has postponed until further notice. The championship had been scheduled for 29 April to 3 May in Puerta Vallerta, Mexico. The championship was postponed in consultation with FIFA and Beach Soccer Worldwide because of the growing concerns of swine flu in the country.
Canada is one of six teams scheduled to participate in the 2009 CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship. Canada had been training briefly in San Diego, USA before touching down briefly in Puerta Vallerta, Mexico. The team has returned safely to Canada. More
CONCACAF Beach Soccer draw unveiled

Canada has been drawn into a group with El Salvador and host Mexico for the upcoming CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The draw was carried out today by Beach Soccer World Wide Head of Competitions Josep Ponset and former Mexican star Fernando "El Sheriff" Quirarte Gutierrez. While Mexico, El Salvador and Canada were drawn in one group, Bahamas, Costa Rica and USA were drawn in the other group.
"Being placed in a group with last year's CONCACAF finalistts is a challenge to say the least," said coach Ross Ongaro. "Playing Mexico in Mexico is always a challenge while El Salvador is a team that last summer represented CONCACAF alongside Mexico with class. Those two teams will force us to play two excellent games in our efforts to qualify." More
Canada announces Beach Soccer roster

Canada's men's beach soccer team has announced its roster for the 2009 CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship. Coach Ross Ongaro has selected 12 players for the six-team tournament which runs this 29 April to 3 May in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The top-two teams in the championship will qualify for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Dubai 2009.
"The experience of qualifying into the quarter-final stage of the FIFA World Cup Rio 2006 will help our players prepare for the challenges ahead in 2009," said head coach Ross Ongaro. "Much ground will need to be covered, but the players will represent Canada with class and pride." More

Canada has announced it will participate at this year's 2009 CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The 2009 championship, which serves as the qualification tournament to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup UAE 2009, runs 29 April through 3 May.
